The number 2 and 4 cylinders are misfiring on my split port fule injection 2000. It ran fine after I changed the spark plug and wires. Then two days later the #2 cylinders were misfiring with no pick up on the hills. I changed the spark plugs and the wires and fuil filter. Then I was told to change the three prong electrical wire harness (pig tail)plugged into the coil (This may or may not help). Not the coil itself. I have not done a compression test yet. What else should I check out?

The very first thing you should do is a compression test, if it's good then check for spark on those two cylinders, if you have spark then get a set of noid lights and verify that you have a pulse to the injector. If you have injector pulse but no spark suspect bad coil, if you have spark but no injector pulse suspect icm or pcm.

Thank you for your fast response. Not sure what icm or pcm means.

Your welcome, anytime. The icm is the ignition control module and the pcm is the powertrain control module. Both could affect spark and injector pulse. Try to perform the tests we talked about and let me know what the results are and I will try to guide you through the next steps. Good luck.
