Last night my dad and I installed a Boss aftermarket radio into my car. In the shop that we did it in, it was working fine the car was not actually running but when we were driving home the radio was playing music for almost the whole ride home and then it just stopped playing music. I turned off the radio to see if it was just bugging out and let it cool down, but when I turned it back on it would only play music for about a couple of seconds. Anyone have any suggestions?

Clearly the fact that this is an aftermarket radio, we will not have exact wiring information for it but it should be similar to the original at least for the power and ground wiring which is what we need to check. As long as you have power and ground on your new radio then the issue is internal to the radio. I would suggest checking this using a test light or volt meter. Here are guides that will help with this:

So if you have power and ground I would replace the unit again which they should exchange it for under their warranty as it is brand new. Thanks
