This is sort of out of order on how I usually answer this.
I've done this a few times trying to perfect it each time.
You have "Prestolite" ignition now. It's been my experience that too many things can and will go wrong with it, and will, just at the perfect times!
In 1979 the "Motorcraft" came into being in the CJs and was a super improvement. I rarely have or see faults with it.
Let's try this approach for an expedient upgrade.
