I have a 1999 Cadillac Deville, bought it used last year. A month ago, I just have the Cadillac Dealer re-programed my remote control (the remote control came with the car, used, and wasn't working at the time I bought the car). Now if I press the lock button twice to lock all the doors, sometimes the car would "start/crank up". It would only does this sometimes. I also noticed that I pressed the unlock button twice, and the car would start/crank up too. Do you have any ideas of what caused it? Could it be my remote control (may be that's why the 1st owner never use it) or could that be something else? Note: Before I have the dealer re-programed it, I also had them test remote control and they said that it's still good, all it need is to re-program so that the car's computer will recognize it.

If you aren't accidently hitting the start button then take it back and have them correct it.

There's no start button on my remote control (I only hit the unlock button). On the remote control there's only 4 buttons: Lock, Unlock, gas, and trunk. Now it does all the time, if I press the unlock button twice to unlock all the doors, all the doors unlock, then the engine would start/crank up twice. My question is that, does 1999 Cadillac came with a built option/system of keyless starting the car?

I don't remember for the lock thing it would take a different remote anyhow so tha may be the problem. The dealer shouldn't charge to redo it
