About a year ago my car stalled and I had to replace the fuel pump. Recently, my car has been showing similar signs of the same problem ( ie. Not getting up to speed when I press down on pedal, not starting right away, feeling jerky while driving ) I was told back when I replaced the pump that it was because of keeping the gas levels too low for long periods of time. Is that true? I will admit I may keep the levels a little on the lower side. To avoid having to replace the pump again, is there anything that I can do? Or at least to keep it from getting worse?
