2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

my car seems to be sucking through coolant weekly. On top of that the acceleration has become dramaticly worse, I will get out of my drive way and start down the road and it will rev up to the 3 Rpm, or thats what I think it is, sorry I am not a totally car person, but anyways I will be just pushing the petal to speed on to 20 or 30 and the car acts like I am pushing the petal all the way down. So I got to the place I was going and I saw some white smoke coming from under the hood of the car so I opened it and (i will describe this as best I can, forgive me if it gets confusing) by the thing that looks like a belt, that spins when the car is on, well really close to that I say green liquid goo, it looked like it was dripping. I dont know if that has to do with the acceleration problem but I hope you might have some answers for me.

It sounds to me like you may need a new water pump. The water pump is what circulates the coolant throughout the motor. I'm not sure from your description as to what your problem is with acceleration
