At first air would only kick on when fan was at level 5 (high) and by switching controls around from floor to mixed to top and back down, then I could switch to a lower level like 1 or 2. Then only level 5 fan worked and this morning fan did not work at all then on the drive to work it kicked back on like nothing was wrong?

Hello,

It sounds like the issue is with the blower motor resistor.
When the knob gets turned for the fan speed, it sends signal to the resistor and the fan speed changes.
Many times, the resistor will fail and will only blow air in one speed.
The blower motor resistor is located on the blower motor housing, under the passenger side dash.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
