Hi- I recently noticed a decrease in my gas mileage.It was suggested by my mechanic that I should change the oxygen sensor. I changed only the one on the manifold and he said that I don't need to change the other near the converter. Is this true? Thank You Russell

He is correct, the one after the catalytic converter is used to read catalytic efficency, to see if the converter is bad or not.
