1999 Pontiac Grand Prix replace coolent retun elbows

Had car diagnosed and repair is to replace thermostat and the two coolent return elbows (plastic parts). Need procedure to replace the two return elbows.

How difficult is it?

If they are hose unions, then pretty easy (oops used the easy word :) ).

If they screw into block, head, then more difficult.

Get replacements parts, drain coolant, replace parts, refill coolant.
