My rotors and pads need replaced very bad. I have parked the car since I can't get to it at the time. I finally tried to take the car to get fixed and now my brake lights are on and my car won't go in reverse as if the wheels have locked up. Is that the case or has something else went wrong? What should I do?

Rhonda:
It seems odd that the car won't go in reverse. Does it go into drive for you?

Is it the check engine light that came on or the brake light, or the "brake lights" on the outside of the car? Is the brake fluid full in the master cylender?

Finally, do you live in an area that it's below freezing? It's possible that the e-brake froze in the on position. My truck did that this past weekend in Pa. I had to put it in 4x4 to make it move and it dragged the rear wheels into the garage where it was able to warm up and work again.

Let me know.

Joe
