1996 Pontiac Grand Prix smoke coming from steering

I was driving today and smoke started coming from the steering wheel. Then my turn signals on the dash started blinking slowly but my actuals turn signal lights are fine. Is my car about to blow up? Lol

You have a short in the electrical system.

Best advice is to have dealer or trusted garage repair, because you must remove air bag, and this is best left to professional, due to possible airbag deployment during repair.
