1996 Pontiac Grand Prix leaking coolant resevor

My 1996 grand prix se overheats every 1 to 2 miles when driving. I need to add engin coolant everytime. But the temperature gaige level stays normal, can you tell me if its leaking coolant from the resevoir?

How is the engine overheating if the temperature gauge is reading normaly?
How do you know that the engine is overheating?

Oh wait a minute--where is the smoke coming from?-The tail pipe or somewhere else?
