My wife's grand prix started leaking antifreeze the other day. I took it to a repair shop and they said that the leak was coming from a frost plug on the timing chain cover. Have you heard of this and is there a replacement? They said the GM dealer in town doesn't list the plug itself as a part that you must replace the whole cover which is a big job, I guess. If you take the alternator off you can see the plug so I though I could replace it myself.

All I can tell you is they do sell all sizes of freeze plugs at the parts store, they also have expandable rubber plugs that you pop in and tighten, I dont trust these as much as the steel plugs though. There is also a tool to install the steel plugs, rent it, or you will have a bitch of a time.
