96 Grand Am - Dash Instruments going nuts!

Pontiac, Grand Am, 1996, 128,000 miles, 2.4 Litre.

Started it this morning and the gages were bouncing all
over and the idiot lights for everything were flashing off and on. Haven't driven it in about two weeks, worked fine then.

I think it is a control module of some kind. Where is it on the car? What is the part number to get a new one?

I would be more suspicious of the instrument cluster.
We did one a few months back that was like that. The odometer can be swapped from the one to the other. After replacement the key needs to be turned to the on position for the theft control acceptance.
