Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Out of nowhere, my car wouldn't start, I narrowed it down to the fuel pressure regulator and replaced it, about 3 months later it wouldn't start again, I removed the regulator and put it back in and the car started and ran for about 1 week and wont start again. The fuel pump works, and there are no leaks anywhere that I can see. Any Ideas?

Remove the FP regulator vacuum line and look for gasoline, if present then the diaphram is ruptured.

Are you using any fuel additives to gas? If so, what are you using?

I ask about the additives because some (specifically Methanol) can destroy rubber seals in fuel system and steel/rubber lines.

Next step is to check the fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge.

An additive called SeaFoam is a good additive to stabilize fuel, remove water, clean varnish.
