Engine Cooling problem
1995 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a leak under the motor it is not a hose it is a pipe that is hooked to the water pump I believe I had it looked at and they were going to drop the water pump to get to it and said it was about a 4 hr job and I was wondering if there was an easier way to get to it and if I could do it myself? And if there was a picture I could see so I could explain it to another person and get another quote on it?

I dont know of any pipe that the water pump has to be removed to replace. Is it possible for you to upload a picture of the part your talking about? The only thing I can think of is a pair of heater tubes that run from the rear of engine and wrap around to the front and they are buried. I have seen these tubes bypassed with rubber heater hose which would be a lot easier to do but im really not sure what is leaking on your car.
