Awhile back my battery leaked over a vacuum hose that caused my interior heater to not blow warm air. This problem was repaired, but since that time I have discovered that when I activate my bright headlights that they come on, but my standard lights turn off, which kind of defeats the purpose. Is it possible that the leaking battery may have damaged something to do with this system? What would be the best course of action to dertermine the actual problem?

I don't know if the battery leakage is connected to the headlite issue? If the brights work, but, the dims don't, there may be an issue with the dimmer switch.

I just wanted to add, if you want to test at the headlite connector, for the low beam, tan wire is B+, black wire is ground. The bright and low beams get feed through the dimmer switch.
