1994 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

is it possible for my car to start up sometimes when

the alternator is going bad or if the alternator is

going bad it won't start at all.

Alternator job is to keep battery fully charged and supply enough power to run all systems
if engine start with a jump and die after the cable removed
and need jump again you suspect and check alternator and charging system
if need jump and start and you are good until you shut it off
you suspect battery
