94 firebird v6 is overheating within 10 minutes of driving. Put in a thermostat but no change, Fluid level is good. Fan looks to be operating.
I have noticed in the past few weeks after shutting down there is a bubbling sound under the hood but the temp gauge read normal. How do I verify a bad water pump? Or what else should I check for?
I don't expect something for nothing. A good reply does deserve a donation.

Usually when a waterpump fails the seal goes bad and you see coolant leaking out the "weep hole".
Having said that, it was ever replaced with a WP with a plastic impeller, the plastic can seperate from the shaft causing little or not coolant movement.
You can take the radiator cap off and start the engine, wait until the thermostat opens and look at the coolant, it should start moving through the radiator, if it doesn't the pump is bad.
You can also have a coolant pressure test to rule out a cracked head or head gasket.
