1986 Pontiac Firebird Car wont start

1986 Pontiac Firebird V8 ? Miles

Car over heated now it wont start did I fry the engine or could I have a battery problem? If I fried the engine will I not get anything when I turn it over?

Will the engine crank over, if not could be hydro lock or the engine is seiged

I am so excited it started! My sons car and he is just learning about cars. Now the problem is we are looking for the air cooling sensor, because the fan for the radiator is not working. Fan motor does work so we are trying the sensor and cannot find it. Any ideas? Thanks appreciate your help

The coolant temperature sending unit/switch is on the left cylinder head below the valve cover and the coolant temperature sensor is on top front of engine behind the alternator Good Luck
