I've had a pop in the steering column when turning the wheel three times. The first two were when it was under warranty and now is is happening again. Can you tell me what is causing this and what the fix is? Thanks.

I'm not a mechanic, but there's techical service bulletin on this issue and the culprit seems to be the intermediate shaft on the steering column. From what I can gather, some say it needs replaced while others say it simply needs lubricated. Pontiac sells lubrication kits for 15 bucks but it's an hour and a half job, according to my dealer. The lube job makes the sound go away only temporarilty. It's supposedly not a safety issue - only an annoyance.
