1995 Pontiac Bonneville heater and tempiture gauge

Hello, this vehicle heat was cool and when idling the gauge went way up then down once I started moving. Then the heat got a litlle warm and then cool again. I just got this car out of the garage to have the fuel pump replaced. So now what do you guys think this could be. Please help! Thank You.

Check and adjust coolant level
sounds as if the system low on coolant
