1995 Plymouth Voyager. 144,000 miles. I just put a new fuel pump on my van because it wouldn't start. Sometimes after hitting the gas tank it would start that is why I assumed the problem was the fuel pump. While coming on the entrance ramp to the freeway it just stopped and wouldnt start again. You can hear that the fuel pump is running and the engine sounds like it wants to start but isnt getting any gas. I checked all the fuses and relays but it still wont start. Any suggestions on what the problem could be. This has been going on now for almost 6 mos.

If you hear the pump chances are it is working. The next question is "Are you getting fuel to the rail?".
Try checking the fuel pressure or carefully just test for fuel; at the valve at the rail.

Check the spark plugs. Are they firing? Are the black, wet, white, dry?

Post back with your results. Good luck. :)

:( 1995 Plymouth Voyager, 144,000 miles. We have checked and replaced the distributor cap and all that you had suggested and it still wont start. The motor is turning over like it wants to and catches for about 3 seconds and then shuts off. I would appreciate any other suggestions that you might have. Thank you for your assistance in this.[/Img]
