I replaced the power brake booster in my 97 g. Voyager today. Brakes now work great but my brakelights are always on now. Also the battery isn't holding a charge after I took it out to do booster. My dash gauges have been intermittent for about a year now but a good whack to the top of the dash always seemed to do the job until recently. Now it goes off for a week and then comes on for 3 weeks. No speedometer, gas guage nothing. Any suggestions. The engine is really strong and van is in great condition so I want to keep it going.
thanks

Brake lights usually are operated by a switch on the brake pedal up under the dash. You can see it from the floor. It's a pushbutton type thing that stays depressed when the brake pedal is not pushed in. If it gets misaligned or sticks, the brake lights will stay on. It operates independently of the key, so it will run down a battery pretty quckly if stuck. Sometimes popping it out of its bracket, checking it for free operation and reinstalling it does the trick.

Not sure about the gauges. Obviously some loose connection somewhere.
