Van died while driving. No sounds, no engine lights. Had been having trouble starting it. Replaced starter and crankshaft sensor. Car tries to start (turns over) but won't fire up. Sounds like it's not getting fuel, but fuel pressure is 40. Mechanic is puzzled. It's also had trouble going into drive occasionally and sometimes slips out of drive right after starting but will go back into gear after a minute of shifting it back and forth. Please help! Mom w/ 2 babies and no car is miserable! 90k miles, automatic

Pressur with key on engine off should be 49 psi, yours indicates either a weak pump, or clogged filter, you can test the pressre at the tank just before the filter to eliminate the guesswork.
