When you poison rodents like squirrels or rats, you re not just causing them an excruciating, slow death you re also putting your pets and local wildlife in serious danger.
Rodents that have ingested poison often wander disoriented into open yards before dying. Your dog or cat may find them and eat them, not knowing the danger. What follows can be heartbreaking: your beloved pet can suffer the same slow, painful death from secondary poisoning.
There are safer, more humane alternatives. Often, if a rodent feels unwelcome if food is removed and access is blocked it will leave on its own. Live traps, ultrasonic repellents, and securing trash are effective without risking lives.
Be kind. Be responsible. Protect all animals wild and domestic.
