Overheating unknown

When I am driving my car's temperature gauge will start to go up like it is overheating, but if I turn the heat on it starts to go down. Also if I am running the defrosters it will start to read it is overheating.

How is the coolant level on your vehicle? This sounds like it could be low on coolant. Please check the level and get back to us with what you find out.
