I have the car listed above with a rebuilt 350. I put the car up for the winter. When I put the car up for the winter no problem. I pulled it back out when the weather broke. It started overheating. I put new water pump, thermostat, and flushed the radiator still overheating. No white smoke, no antifreeze mixing with oil.

Hi,

Is the fan in good condition and not slipping? Are you certain the engine is overheating or are you going off a gauge or light? Have you adjusted the ignition timing since you got it out for the summer? Don't laugh, but is the heater working?

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

If the ignition timing is too far advanced, it can cause the engine to run hotter. However, if you haven't touched it, that shouldn't be the issue.

If you open the radiator cap when it's cold and start it, does the coolant start to flow when the thermostat opens? Also, and don't laugh, pay attention to the lower radiator hose when it starts to overheat (when the radiator cap is installed). Make sure it isn't collapsing.

Let me know.

Joe
