Transmission problem
2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

When driving and when I am excelerating it seems like it doesn't want to pick up speed and then it will klunk and then it will take off. It has also failed to start. I have been driving the van and it will not start for awhile, then after about 20 minutes it will start. Anything you can suggest would be helpful.

Is the service engine soon light on? If so have the code(s) read and write them down, post here. Autozone reads them for free, if no light get back to us. Engine size? 3.4?

No lights have come on. Not when it won't start nor when it does the klunk.

I would check the electrical connections at the transaxle. GM had issues with water intrusion. If TCC solenoid or neuteral saftey gets wet, it could cause some of these issues.
