Climate Control Blower

1991 Oldsmoble Custom Cruiser 5L V8 120K miles. Electronic Climate control.
I shut off the car & the blower motor kept running.
This happened repeatedly, so I disconnected the battery & removed the kick panel where the blower is located. I reconnected the battery & the blower started running, so I pulled the relay. Blower kept running! I disconnected the blower connection & disconnected the battery again. I reconnected everything & now the fan doesn't work at all. The relay tests fine. The Electronc head shows no faults, all controlls function, just no fan and a test light connected to the fan power lead terminals did not light. Service book mentions a power module & connectors. I don't know where it is or what it looks like. Am I thinking allong the right lines & where are these located, how do I get to them?

The blower control module is next to the blower motor under the dash kick panel. Undo the two power connectors, remove the 3 screws & it drops out. The module is mounted on a heat sink with 2 screws. You can also remove the face plate. The modules are interchangable with other climate control equiped vehicles, some even have fewer connectors but may still work. Try & match the id numbers or search for cross refference parts to know which makes & models might have what you need

Some of the vehicles with usable blower control modules have them mounted in different locations, many are under the hood in the AC area near the firewall. Look for the connectors, the panel may be differently shapped, but all you need is the module or the module with the heatsink. You can swap the face/mounting panel easily.
