I have a 96 Olds Achieva SC with 125000 on it. I get the engine codes
1441,134, and 446.
It starts and than stalls out immediately. We can't figure out what is wrong with it. I dont have any idea what these codes mean. I read what they stand for but what do they mean?

Hey becbrat,
The 1441 and 446 are evap codes (evaporative emissions) and its very unlikely its the cause of your start/stall. The 134 code is a o2 sensor inactivity code. I've never heard of an O2 causing a start/stall, but its possible I guess. It sounds to me like there may be another issue causing this, Mass Air Flow or M.A.P. Sensor (which ever is installed), crank sensor, ign module are some common ones.

The code that comes up is 989, I have no idea what that code is, but my car starts and drives ok, but as soon as this check engine light comes on the car idles low, and shuts down, but then it starts back up with no problems, can someone help me with this problem, bc local mechanics can't even figure out this problem
