I just did a little research, my wife has an olds silhouette too. There is a reinitialing procedure when something happens to the door or the battery is disconnected or the gauge fuse, tail fuse, or back up fuse is removed. All require reinitializing the door module. To reinitialize to the following in this order and do not skip a step! Turn ignition switch off. Put power door on/off switch on the overhead console to the off position. Make sure door is closed, latched and locked. Remove TAIL fuse from fuse block and keep removed for 30 seconds, then reinstall. Wait 10 seconds turn switch on overhead console to on position. Now open the door with the power switch and leave open for 5 seconds and close it using power switch, repeat open and close, waiting 5 seconds after each. Now the power door should operate properly. I hope this helps, if it does not let us know.
