1986 Oldsmobile Delta 88 car won't start

Went to start the car and it would not start, no crank nothing but a single click, the lights, and stereo work fine, I tried jumping it and that didn't work, tried a trickle charge this did work the car started and I let it idle for 20 minutes. I turned it off and came back later started it again it started, came back later a again drove it about 15 km and then let it sit for 20 minutes came out to start it and it was making the click again.

Lets check out the battery and connection if okay check the starter current draw this will tell you something about the starter-could also be the park and neutral switch and ignition switch.
