1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL V6
I just recently replaced the idle air control (IAC) valve and did all the proper necessary adjustments (resetting the valve, etc) After resetting, I check for proper idling (car sounds good) while car is in park. After roughly 5 minutes my car starts to cough a bit and then engine shortly dies after. I try and start the car again right after, and while turning the key the engine will kick but wont turn on. After about 20-30 minutes the engine will start again, but the symptoms again just start over. Any ideas please?

Thank you

My gut feeling is that you are loosing spark because of the ignition control module.

But you need to check for spark and fuel the next time it dies and wont start.

Then we will have a better idea as where to point you.
