Hello and thank you for taking my question. I have a 1995 Olds Aurora and I think the Coolant temp sensor is bad and need a confirmation. When im driving down the road the message center tells me that the engine is hot, and shuts down the car for a second or two, but my temp gauge is @ the normal temp. Thank you for reviewing my question.

Josh,
It could be the sensor, but it sounds like it isn't. To me, it the gauge is good and a warning comes up, it sounds more like a short. Have the computer scanned at a nationally recognized parts store. See if there are any codes stored in the computer. Most parts stores will do it for free.

Let me know what you find. Also, do the cooling fans come on when this happens?
