Hi,

We were on a stop light and the car engine suddenly shut down. I tried to start again and after 2 tries it started and after little driving the low fuel light glowed. We stopped at a gas station and pumped gas. After that I started to start the car and it wouldnt start, after 8-10 tries it started. I was not sure what happened and what should I check.

Regards,
Nitin

Sounds like a fuel pump. If you have to crank and crank to get it to start after shutting it off then I would check the fuel pressure or have it checked and see if the fuel pump it failing. It could be the fuel pump relay as well. Let me know how it goes.

Hi,

It seems that there was no problem in the car, the computer was doing that, they just reset the computer and since then it is not giving me any problems. Could this thing be true.

Yes it can if the computer thinks something is happening that isn't it can read a sensor wrong or something and stop injector pulse or such. They must have flashed the computer which makes it relearn. Thanks for your question.

This time the mechanic says it is the fuel pump which was bad and that's the reason it is not starting.
I researched on that, and saw so many posts about how the Passlock II system of GM is screwed and that system makes this starting problem.
Is there any fix for this problem or my wife has to deal with this everytime she is on the road.
