2002 Oldsmobile Alero Engine wont start

2002 Oldsmobile Alero 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

engine turns over but car wont start. Is fuel pump located in gas tank or elsewhere. Can spray into inlet fuel port and car will start but dies out.

It sounds like the fuel pump is bad. Have you checked the fuel pressure? Here is the "HOW TO" for checking the pressure. Let me know what you find. Also, if you need the gauge, most parts stores will lend or rent them.

To answer the other question, the fuel pump is in the tank. However, you could even have a plugged fuel filter.
