1995 Oldsmobile 88 6 cyl 70,000 miles

I experience a noticeable whir or high pitched sound that is electrical in nature, since it is affected by my blinker and other electrical loads, it only happens when I start it up and if I turn off the engine and restart it disappears. What is it?

I would like you to have the charging system tested if you would. Go to your local parts store and just ask them if they would check you battery and alternator as most will do this for free. Let me know what you find here and we will take it from there.

I actually had a loose connection with the battery so that is what caused the alternator to go into overdrive.
