We change our oil every 5000 miles. We just got it changed two weeks ago before we went on a 2500-mile trip. The oil pressure light came on along with a check engine light and a P0014 engine code. We changed the oil pressure sensor and put a new oil filter on it and still have both lights. The car drove fine before this happened. We have a lifter tick now but I think that comes from low oil pressure of I'm correct. We are lost at this point. Is it toast?

Yes when you lose pressure parts get damaged. Might be a stuck lifter and it seems you've been doing all the right things keeping the oil clean and such. Unfortunately, at this point there isn't a lot you can do without getting into the engine but there are a few alternatives you could try, they don't always work but often times they do. I found that marvel mystery oil can help free a sticky lifter. And there other products available too but that one seems to acually work quite often. Good luck

Contact Kia, there is a class action lawsuit on the engine in that vehicle because they are a known failure item, and it may be eligible for replacement of the engine. Take a look here and run your VIN to see which group you are in
