I just bought this car and I check my engine oil daily, but my dipstick is showing a reduction in oil with huge difference every day. Like I changed my oil last week and now the dipstick is showing oil below the low level. My engine exhaust is not showing any white smoke, my engine sound is also perfect and there is no low oil sensor indication on my dash. Please help guide me through the problem. The engine is 2.5li DOHC V4, I guess.

Hello,

Okay, the oil is going somewhere. It is either leaking somewhere or it is being burnt in the engine's combustion process. So let's look for leaks. Look at the valve covers, head gasket, timing chain cover. You might need to jack up and support the vehicle to get underneath of it and here is a link for you to go to explaining how to do this properly below:

Look at the oil pan, front and rear main oil seals and the oil filter and oil sending unit. If the vehicle is leaking oil it should be readily apparent with a lot of it blown from the leak. Please check your vehicle for oil leaks and get back to us with what you find out. We will go from there.

Thanks,
Alex

There is oil leakage from the bottom, but I cannot confirm it, either is transmission oil or engine oil. Because a person was saying that it is transmission oil leakage. How can I confirm that?

Hello again,

Is there any way you could get under the vehicle and snap a few pictures of it and upload it to us? Also transmission fluid is usually reddish in color and engine oil will be black. Please get back to us with what you can deduce from the information or with a few pictures.

Thanks,
Alex

These are the possible shots that I could take. I hope these are helpful. Today I added w40 oil of fuchs. Before that I was using 10w30 of petromin. I though the thickness might help.

Hello again,

Okay, if the oil is coming from the front of the engine around the crankshaft pulley then it will be a front main oil seal that is leaking. If not then it looks like it will be the oil pan gasket that's leaking, Please check the front of the engine around the crankshaft pulley and get back to us.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex

I hope you are doing great. I had solved the problem of oil leaking thank God! But now I am experiencing another issue. My car temperature guage deflects alot. When I turn AC it gets low when I turn it off it goes up. One day it also burst my radiator. I changed it with a new one but the fluctuations are not solved. One day when the guage was trying to rise I opend the hood and saw the both of the fans not working. But once I turned the AC on the both fans got activated pulling the guage down. I dont know if this is by company or what? I also dont know what to do. Please help?

Hello,

I would be happy to help you with this problem, but for archival reasons can you ask this as a separate, new question for us. This way if someone else has the same problem and is checking threads they will be able to find it.

Thanks,
Alex
