Son overheated it. Replaced thermostat and ECM. Still no start but will try to crank over (Ie start). Battery cables were off when installed Ecm. Need advice on what to do next?

Hi,

Have you confirmed if the engine is getting both ignition spark to the plugs and fuel pressure? Take a look through this link. It explains the most common causes of a crank no start condition.

Do me a favor. See if it starts for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, it's a fuel related issue. If it doesn't even try to start, it's likely an ignition issue.

Also, how badly was it overheated? Can you record it cranking and upload it for me to hear? That may help me.

Let me know.
