Not getting fuel

I have just reassembled the engine after replacing a bent valve do to a timing belt failure. All timing marks are set according to Hyundai and the engine turns over freely. There is spark on all cylinders but it does not seem to be getting fuel. The fuel pump pressures up but when I turn over the engine it doesn't seem to be getting fuel and when I let off the key I can hear the fuel pump pressurizing the system.

Hi,

If you can hear the pump coming on that pretty much proves out the circuit side of this but that doesn't mean it is actually building pressure. Either put a gauge on it to determine if there is pressure or follow this "test."

Clearly putting a gauge on it is the best way of testing the pump. Another way to confirm it is at least a fuel issue is to use starter fluid in the intake to see if it fires off of that. If so, you know it is a fuel issue. Still may be a restriction or other issue but at least you know you are on the right path.

I tried using the starter fluid and still just spins over even though there is spark. I also plugged a code reader in to see if there was a code that needed to be cleared but it shows that there is no codes.

Okay. Is there a way you can get a video of what it sounds like when it is cranking? If you confirmed there is spark on all cylinders and you introduced fuel and it is still not firing, then that leaves compression. Because an engine needs compression, ignition at the correct time and fuel.

Again it appears it is compression just because you said it has spark, and it is timed correctly so we may need to run a compression check. If this checks out, then we may need to verify timing.
