I have replaced "fuel pump, relay, fusible link, and other parts" I can pour fuel in the carburetor and it fires right up and as I pour in fuel injection cavity it purrs like a kitten. I've been working on this truck for about 3 years now and traded our SUV for the new Soul so farm life is a little hard without a truck. I am about to pull the tank out again and double check to see if everything there is good. (It is new also)
The problem started when the wife and I went to town and on the way back we started to lose power (bogging down) then would run fine about a mile and do it again. We made it home. A few days later I was checking to see what the problem was so I replaced the fuel pump. Fired it up hopped in and went down the road got about half mile it bogged then stopped. I was able to start it a couple of times put in gear and quit running and never ran again. That was about 3 years ago. Since then I go out and tinker with it read a little replace parts nothing has worked. It is a little hard for me to hear anything running (I am 70% deaf) hearing aids are very pricey but others said they can't hear anything either. That is why I am thinking electrical?

Good morning,

I attached the wiring diagram for you for the fuel pump.

Check for power to the relay from the ECM when the key is turned on.

Check for battery voltage as well at the relay for the pump itself.

I looked at this but this is not my model so it makes in hard for me to find and my fuse box is under dash, and relay is on fire wall. Do you have a diagram of the 1991 Chevrolet 1500 wt? So I can see where so of these test are.

That is for a 1991 1500.

What is different from the diagram?

Also, I'm not the best electrician I will have to study the wires to figure out which ones to test. May be a few days between farming, okay.

I finally fixed my problem, it was the new distributor, the advance mechanism in the distributor wasn't advancing all the time. Problem solved: "91 Chevy C1500 runs great."
