I have a noise that occurs when I let my foot off the gas, as soon as I apply the slightest pressure it goes away. If I am coasting in neutral, it is there, if I am in park, revving up it is not, if I am in the drive in neutral, revving up, its not. I have changed the front wheel hubs twice, new rotors, pads and calipers, new belt, pulley and tensioner and EGR valve. The sounds is reminiscent of popcorn or card in spokes, when I get down to about 15-20 it goes away.
Some things I have read are: timing chain slack, exhaust leak, back pressure from free flow exhaust. Just not sure why it is there or how to test for it. Have you heard of anything like this?

Hi,

I can't say this noise sounds familiar but it may help if you can get a recording of it. The first thing I thought of was something in the transmission because you have a 62TE transmission that has a compounder gear that is known for failing and making noise at times. However, it does not sound like a card in the spokes. This sounds like detention.

A recording of the noise will really help getting us on the same page. If I heard it I am sure we can figure something out. If you can just take a video of it while it is doing it then post it to this thread, I will let you know what I think. Thanks
