I took my cylinder lock with key from a 2005 Nissan Maxima and put into another 2005 Nissan Maxima. Exactly the same car, everything works and turns over way good, but it won't start. Do I need to program and if I do? How is that done?

Hi,

The key isn't recognized by the body control module, so the immobilizer had the vehicle shut down. See pic 1 below.

To reprogram the immobilizer, you need a scan tool that can communicate with the body control module.

I attached some general information below. Take a look through it and let me know if you have questions.

Take care,

joe
