Hello,

The Camshaft Position Sensor(s)(CMP)(s) on your vehicle send a signal to the Power-train Control Module(PCM) or "computer" and the PCM controls the fuel injectors and the ignition timing from this signal. The first two tests of the diagnostic tests for your vehicle's CMP are pretty straight forward, but the last one will require the use of an oscilloscope to complete but I included it just in case. Usually if a CMP or CKP is suspected of being bad, it is just replaced. They can be picked up at any auto parts store for around $20.00. Please go through the tests included in the diagrams down below and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
