I have the truck listed above 1500. Today the radiator blew and shut the truck down it had been sitting for a year. Replaced the radiator and the oil light is on, and the engine is making noise. It will start but as soon as I hit the gas the truck stalls and the oil pressure level is at zero. What can I do?

Hi,

Are you hearing a knocking or ticking from the engine? Also, when the radiator failed, did you allow the engine to overheat?

If you are hearing a knocking or ticking from the engine and the oil pressure is at 0, avoid running the engine until we determine the issue.

Also, if it overheated, check the engine oil to make sure the coolant hasn't mixed with it.

Here is a link that may help you identify engine noises:

Let me know.

I do not see antifreeze in the oil, but the oil does smell like it’s burnt, again this vehicle has sat for a year. The engine overheated as I did not get any warnings on my dashboard or gauges and there is a ticking noise.

Hi,

Is it possible for you to record the noise it makes and upload it for me to hear? A ticking can be a lifter or even an exhaust leak.

Let me know.
