1995 Dodge Ram Low oil pressure

The oil pressure gauge is fluctuating non-stop at idle it sits between 35-40psi. When I put it in gear, any gear it is between 0-20psi. I have changed the oil and there was no change. Coud it be the gauge, oil pump, sludge? I don't know I just know I need that truck. Thanks a million.

Do you hear any type of engine knocking noises do below

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump failing
