Will not start, not getting fuel?

I removed both A/C compressor and alternator. bought wrong A/C compressor so I had to put the original back forgot to plug the alternator back in and the battery drained out. switched batteries drove home plugged alternator back in. I had taken the black breather assembly off the engine when I changed batteries because the battery was too big, but covered the intake hole of the breather with a towel. when I got home to plug my alternator back in my car would not start. not getting any gas.

Which intake hole was plugged with a towel? Also, when you say it won't start, is the starter engaging and cranking the engine, or does nothing happen?

One last question. Did you check fuel pressure?
