Starts great after sitting for a few hours. Drive it a while, turn it off and try to start it within an hour or two and no crank/no start- nada. Hear one click each attempt to start. Will not jump start, have lights/radio etc. Battery and connections are in great shape.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

If you hear a click either one of the connections are corroded or loose, or the starter itself is going bad. Take a look through this link and see if it sounds like the same issue.

If it does not, I have to be honest. It sounds like the starter is going bad. When they get hot, things expand inside and they can fail. I would like to say remove the starter and have it bench tested at a parts store, but it will be cold then and work.

If you decide to remove it and have it tested, here are general directions for removing a starter:

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
